Brake Upgrade

Postby Luce22 » Wed Sep 06, 2006 2:20 pm

Well I have been searching all over SG to find any info on Brake Upgrades, if anyone can point me to the right thread it would be appreciated.

I want to upgrade my brakes, but I really dont know where to start. I know the Brembo is a good brake system, does anyone have personal experience with them? I have 20 inch five spoke rims so I want something that looks good also. I was thinking about Drilled and sloted...

any suggestions?

Yeah - sometimes hard to find the Gen 2 stuff with all the Gen 1 noise... ;)

Here's a couple threads on it (Searched for "Big Brake Kit") - but I know there has been even more discussion on it.

Very expensive - wish I had $5-6K to invest in it myself...

That is a lot of money...I still may do it. Maybe if we get a group deal they will lower the price some? It still may be high but you never know. I will contact him and see what I can find out. Thanks for th link, there is a lot of Gen 1 info out there!

Yeah - prolly not a GB unless it's over 1000 units or something ridiculous... not that their pricing in the first place isn't ridiculous! LOL!

Kind of wishing the rotors from another make with the same bolt pattern would fit. G35 has a nice set on them. Then it would be down to a caliper conversion. But that's pipe dreamin' right?

Hey guys I got a quote from Rotora. For a big brake set it is going to run me $4778 for front and back. He may actually drop the price if I get both together. So Im looking at somewhere around $3500-$4000. I have an email from him with the quote if anyone else is interested...
