CP-e MAFci : why not ?

How many guys have their CP-e intake ?? Sorry not just intake...MAFci system. Because it's way more then just a stupid intake. It's upgrading your fuel map to something between 14.7 and 13.0 AFR with a module thaat connect BETWEEN ECU and MAF sensor, it will never damage your ECU. So more MPG when cruising normally and accelerate slowly and more power for strong acceleration ! You have to see more that the $$ it costs...it will bring you much more !! I got the tunable version...I can plug my laptop on their software and see RPM VS voltage and MAF graphs. For Gen 2...it gives exactly the numbers they said. Yeah it's known...the sound...incredible !

I have one and love it. I do think I run a bit rich at times, cuz I get a little backfire (I believe) on very rare occasion under certain circumstances (usually when I decelerate and coast down, then hammer it). Those situations are few and far between, but they have happened 3 or 4 times.

Other than that; the performance increase is notable, the sound is awesome, the installation is easy, the look is HOTT, and the fit/finish is impeccable.

How about another option- I have a TRD Supercharger and the CPE is created for NA vehicles. I've dropped about 5-8k into this car and another $400 is a drop in the bucket, but for $400 it better be right.

Tunable version let you tune it to work with your S/C !! The problem is to tune it yourself. If you do so, you could contact Josh of CP-e to send it to him...you'll get great discount on the product ! Call CP-e and ask to talk to Josh about that.

Wow !! lucky you !! I've made a 625 miles ride for let them tune it for 2006 Solara (yeah Toyota made some change for 2006...)

I'm sure they will be please to have someone that live near their facilities !! Way to go !!

Still loving mine. Cleaned the filter so it'll be blue for the Elmhurst meet and there was a notable boost in performance! (it was nasty)
Still sad that I don't have the laser etched cp-e logo though. They didn't have them when mine was made.
I'd still love to take an Injen to the track and get a back to back comparison. It would be a 5 minute swap and bypass the customiser. (I was hoping for Phreak's this weekend but the SG's aren't coming up to the track.)

(I think) I'm the 1st guy, brave enough to try the CP-e intake for the GEN-1 Solara on my S/C'd 1998 Sienna. Still using the base fuel map for more than a month and no problems so far. Still looking for a tuner shops to tune my not so ordinary minivan. More power is noticeable after 3200 rpm though you have to be easy on the gas pedal at take off for a smooth acceleration, or occasional jerking will occur which I think it’s the effect of the EBC module cutting the boost at A/T gear change.

Here how the engine bay looks now. I changed the filter with K&N RF-1035 angeled (10 degree) flange and added a filter heat shield.

This is NOT like any of the other intakes I've tried. It makes *real* gains. Everything has been great with mine - for 10 days and counting.

I've had the same experiences as James aka theprodigy79, I've had about 4-5 backfires given the same circumstances. But overall I've been very happy with the purchase, and it is definitely not an ordinary intake. I'd give it a 9.9 out of 10 b/c of running rich at times.

Well - I will most likely switch from my Injen to the CP-e some day. I'll probably keep my Injen handy to slap on for smog purposes, unless for some miraculous reason the CP-e gets CARB certified or I can "find" a sticker for it

From everything I've read here, I'll see real improvements. Hopefully we can get a tranny shift fix for the '06 before then too, or it'll be a waste of $$.

i love deep sound and quick acceleration on the second gear high RPM. very sharp gain.

i also love shifting between gears.


however it's dirty now and needs cleaning.


in conclusion, this was a nice lone upgrade for gen 2 v6 but i am a bit bored with it

And yeah I know we are ready since long to have some headers and cat-back and S/C !! CP-e is ready to do so...but it needs a market, some true serious ($$$) car tuning lovers ! Don't want to offend you guys with that. I think we are all car lover (at least Solara, right) on SG. But starting with the fact that Solara in sells numbers are pretty low compare to other enthusiastic car like Honda Civic, Accord, Nissan Altima, Mazda 6 or Mustang...we need a greater % of serious parts buyer. One thing I know is that the only performance part available that give some boost is the CP-e MAFci system...you will never regret it !!!
