Ride Quality After lowering and 20s

Ride Quality After lowering and 20s

Postby crayzboost » Mon May 01, 2006 4:58 pm

hello all. can i get some opinions from people that have 20 inch rims and have their solaras lowered. i will definately be getting 20s for my solara but ive seen some solaras with a drop and some with no drop and the ones with no drop look pretty decent. if i dont need to drop my solara i wont but if it looks funny i will and i was wondering how bad will it effect the ride quality..

thanks guys and girls..

The tires will make the difference here. The thinner it is the crapier the ride quality. I went from 235/60-15 on my xA to 215/35-18 and the ride quality suffered greatly. You will feel every single bump on the road. The drop itself effects it on a much smaller scale.

i will be getting 225-35-20 tires, definitely will be extra -extra cautious on the roads since its a thinner tire but the only tire that will work with my 2 inch drop. 245 tires will rub on my ride, but for others it will work. All depends on ur drop. I think people with rims need to drop there ride, it will set the look.Anyone with rims knows that.Dont forget to get them balanced and all that stuff or you will complain about your wheel shaking goin at like 60mph or something. Dont forget to post pix if u decided to get 20s :)

^^^ It'd be hotter even with a modest drop. As it stands, it is just a tad 4x4-ish if you know what I mean...

hmm i never really like that design with so many spokes, but it does make the ride look real aggressive. Youre right it doesnt look that bad,but it's still begging to be dropped :)

i'll put it this way. your car might look good without a drop, depending on the style of rims and size tire youre going for. however, it will only look better with a drop. you will loose ride quality. if you can live with that, then go for it. do you have a specific rim in mind?

i have a few in mind, some type of five star or possible the spoke style on the other white solara, mine is white.. i would prefer no lip because it makes the rim look bigger without the lip.
