Anyone have an opinion or heard anything about these springs? According to other numerous threads about lowering springs, people state that the TRD, Eibach, and Sprint ride qualities are A-OK (close to OEM stylee).

I don't have specific experience with Tein springs on the Solara, but I have delt with MANY diffrent Tein applications. They are all very high quality, the ride in every case has been extremely close to stock.

i have trd with rsb and the ride is stiffer but nowhere near uncomfortable. i think about the tien application alot since i find i prefer much more damping, and spring rate. the solara has a wonderful ride, but things get moving around too much on uneven higher speed corners. i thought the tiens were adjustable so you could tweak for preference. they are costly yet you get what you pay for....

Thanks for the input. I think I'm gonna try these out, I'll let everyone know how they perform in a few weeks.

youre thiknking of coilovers, not springs. from what i hear tein springs are great on our cars. ive heard that eibach/trd are a bit more stiff.... i bought tein springs and will be putting them on this spring so i hope they arnt too bad. for further comfort you can always install new struts along with your new springs....

Well, I've decided to get the Tein SS coilover set instead of the springs. After some extensive research on this subject, 2 things influenced my decision to fork out da bigg bucks on these buggas. One is price, since I already have 43k on Da Lara, a major suspension overhaul is probably needed. Toyota quoted $178/$183 (F/R) for the new struts. **VOMIT** ...where u b at aftermarket??? So that made me tink 'bout dis a little more. It would roughly cost me $1100 for everything and the coilvers cost around $1350 for everything (ebay purchase + $100-180 for install). Not 2 badd. The second factor is adjustability, both height and stiffness. I'll probably be getting 19-20" rimmage in the future so this would DEFinitely come in handy. I'll hopefully have this done by June.

No, I stay in Palmdale, CA right now (ahh yes, the desert). Its 'bout 45 min from LA. Wish i was back home though. Da 43k is from commuting 2 and from work.

Anyone see this? BEWARE OF COUNTERFEIT S.TECHS!
http://www.tein.com/counterfeit/warning.html

WARNING!!:
COUNTERFEIT S.TECH

Recently, We have confirmed that some of the eBay stores are guilty of selling COUNTERFEIT TEIN S.TECH springs.
To assure authenticity of any TEIN product, PLEASE make your purchases only through a TEIN Authorized Dealer. To locate a TEIN Authorized Dealer near you, please click here.

TEIN would like to inform you of the differences between the COUNTERFEIT TEIN S.TECH springs and the Authentic S.TECH.

Difficult-to-tell counterfeit S.tech springs are being heavily marketed.
Such replicas may be of bad quality and extremely dangerous
• NO precise lowering spec.
• Unknown quality, which may lead to sagging, rust, cracking and noise issues
• Unknown Engineering Data
• Extremely dangerous and can lead to suspension failure

We are now in the process of taking legal matters in effort to resolve this issue. We are committed to keep the general public informed as information becomes available.

TEIN S.Tech Springs- Authentic Vs Counterfeit

Point 1: Outer Box - Prints for Image

* Letters 'STYLISH SPEC' on fake one are thinner and darker in color than genuine one.

Point 2: Outer Box - Product Label ImageImage

* Fake label is bigger than the frame printed on the box thus is going over the line.
* Fonts used on the label is thinner and the print is light.

Point 3: Protuct - Part & Lot Number ImageImage

* Genuine S.Tech has both part number and lot number printed parallel to the coil itself, while fake one has them parallel to the ground (meaning at an angle to the coil).
* Also, the fake one has bolder letters.

Point 4: Product - Logo ImageImage

* Fake one has a 'TEIN' logo sticker. The real S.Tech should have it directly printed on.

Point 5: Image

* Different designs illustrate a difference in engineering data; therefore, the products quality specs and MOST IMPORTANT your SAFETY is left unknown.

Sounds like good reasoning. We'll be waiting for your review! Who's doing the install? You or a shop?
