Dash Trim kits?

Dash Trim kits?

Postby Gorcman » Sun Feb 26, 2006 2:35 pm

ive been thinking about replacing the wooden trim parts on my SLE with something with a sportier look (like the Sport's trim). Ive seen a few of these aftermarket trim kits on ebay, but does anyone know if theyre any good? also, is it a DIY job?

you can install it yourself, its not that hard, you just have to take your time and be careful, as for the ebay part, well you never know with ebay. I bought mine off of www.sherwooddash.com.

I just went to that website and inquired about a new kit. I already had a kit from the factory, but this hot sun peeled away the clock/radio cluster. This time, when I get a new kit, I'll be sure to use a sun shade of some kind.
Actually, I'm kind of thinking about getting this:

It may be a bit much, but nothing is too good for my baby!

keep us posted if you go for any of these kits.

I am interested in something that covers up the SLEs fake-woodgrain with CF, like in the Sport. Wonder how much the OEM goes for? The ebay kits seem to go over the top by covering up the radio and the doors.

I've bought a carbon fiber dash kit off ebay for my civic which turned out fine, no problems with it. And my bf purchased a gray marble one a few months ago for his altima and had no problems with it either. Both legit and it was a DIY job. From my 2 experiences, I'de recommend ebay if you really wanted one from there for a good price~

hmm.... i really like the black graphite trim on the SE Sport, but i dont see any aftermarket ones like it. The closest would be carbon fiber, but it doesnt look as good as the black graphite IMO. I wonder if its possible to order the black graphite trim from the Toyota Dealership....

Totally agree, I want as close to OEM as possible.

Are the ones from ebay just stickers or what?

I think all of these dash kits are stickers, unless they say mold or molded.
