it might just be universal.. it was the only system that was available when I did my search for exhaust systems... so m not sure about whether or not it is Gen 2 spec or universal...

There's the TRD exhaust, but shop around for it. Don't pay $450 for it.
It's a direct fit and requires no modification. The tip looks great with the SE Sport body kit. Installation: If you can change a tire, you can install a muffler. It takes about 10 minutes after jacking up the car. (Just two bolts)

As for universal, be aware of the total labor costs. This may close the gap between the TRD and the universal.

Any places you suggest looking Phreak? I researched a long time ago and didnt have any luck under $422. Maybe muffler shops can get a deal?

$399.96 is the best I've seen so far. But I haven't checked EBay or every site. (This lists 4cyl but it should be the same TRD part. 17400-025)

Checking Greddy, they don't have the Gen 2 listed.

I like my baby quiet. If I wanted a loud car I'd have bought a mustang. Different strokes for different folks though :)

I like it quiet till I get on it.. then I want her to growl...I love the sound of my engine.. and the right exhaust will amplify it at the right time.. when I am giving her the gas.. ;)

zoom, when u find that exhaust system lemme know cuz im looking for the exact sound you probably want also lol. its hard finding mods for this carr! i think a dual exhaust would look nice also plus performance but they dont have an extra cut out on the SE SPORT bumper. all day at work im on the search for new mods, hard to come across

Hey zoom, now that I installed the CP-e, I would recommend that you at least consider it instead of an exhaust system. My car is now loud when I really step on it (and I mean LOUD), yet almost silent when driven leisurely. The sound clips that are floating around don't do it justice (it's like recording the output of a subwoofer; it loses the kick). I have no idea what price range you're looking at, so that may be a factor. And the install is not trivial, but not that difficult either.
