Those sills look great but I think are a bit pricey. Can anyone come up with something a bit cheaper perhaps? Hint hint hint Michael T? I'd love to get these and I'm sure many here would too. Even Acura TSX's have them and these type sills are usually on near luxury and luxury cars.

These ARE nice, but NOT $80 nice.

Even before I saw these I was thinking about making a pair of custom door sills myself. For me, the metal work would be the easy part, its adding the logo that would be more difficult. I would need a "Solara" decal of some sort, or I would have to cut a stencil and spray paint it on. Either way, you then should clear-coat the whole piece for protection.
I just haven't had time to work on this yet. Sounds like a good project for Michael T.

And while we are on the subject of new AM parts, just look at all the stuff you can buy already for the Scion's. Examples:
Scion tC Interior Lighting Cup Holder Under Dash

Scion XA XB Cold Air Induction By AEM Chrome
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... egory=6755

And what do the Gen 2 Solaras get?... overpriced door sills!

the coldair intake for the shoe lookin scion and the box-that-the-shoe-came-in lookin one come with light up cup holders... and the underlight is just neon or LED... so nothing to be upset about there. and TRD and the companies that make most of the TRD label parts have had CAI since they came out. its because the cars are cheap.... its that whole budget tuner crap... Sorry about complaining. I just want more stuff for my Solara. I want dual cat-back exhausts, coil-over performance shocks, a CAI, uprated brakes & ceramic pads, a performance programmable ECU, and dare I dream, a supercharger. I want it ALL... NOW! The Gen 1 & 1.5 folks have all the go-fast goodies, what about the Gen 2?

Be patient, good things should come. I waited 2 years before I got my s/c, I wasn't imagining paying 3 grand for it. I highly doubt there will be a CAI, I just don't see how you could run it without having to move/remove things. So it'll probably be to much trouble for a company to make one. I think we should look at a direct ram air setup. For the exhaust, just go to a muffler shop and do a custom dual cat-back like many of us have done. I don't know about a coilover setup, unless you find a company to willing make one.

Thanks for your advice. I guess patience was never once of my strongest virtues and I'm just "venting".
I really am not in that big a rush for all this stuff, but its unsetting to see other Toyota lines apparently get priority on TRD parts etc. I'm actually a bit reluctant to add anything other than TRD parts to the car while its under warranty, as the dealer already gave me a problem about my AM tires and wheels voiding the factory warranty in relation to the lift drift issue. Did I ever give him an ear-full!!

Well, I see this thread has gone way off topic, so to bring it back..........

I e-mailed the seller of the door sills, and asked him about the possibility of getting a better deal due to high interest, but also unwilling to pay that much for them. I will let you guys know if I get a response. :D

Excellent going! I'm sure many people here would love to get them and he should be able to drop the price in half. I guess we will need a poll to see the interest.
