For thoes of you with KYB GR2 Struts i have a few questions

Allright, so since i JUST realized that lowering on the SLE struts is a horrible idea, I decided to get some KYB GR2's to go along with my TRD lowering springs. Now i have a couple of more questions for those of you who have done the same thing.

1) As asked before with 18x8 rims that have a 40 mm offset, no rubbing correct?

2) How much better is the performance over the stock SLE setup?

3) Did you install them yourself and how hard would you say it is. (did you need an alignment after as well?)

4) Did the camber of your wheels stay straight? i have been told that i should look into a camber adjustment kit if i change out the struts... i don't think this is an issue but what do you guys think?

For number 4, you ABSOLUTELY need to go get an alignment done after lowering. I didn't after I lowered my car and the insides of my tires were instantly eaten away.

i have 18/8 w/35 offset no rubbing issues

How much better is the performance over the stock SLE setup?

pretty stiffer youll feel the diff

Did you install them yourself and how hard would you say it is. (did you need an alignment after as well?)

i didnt but it took my mechanic about 2 1/2 hrs. i had already taken off the rear seats and side panels so he had enough room to work around alignment 4 sure

Did the camber of your wheels stay straight? i have been told that i should look into a camber adjustment kit if i change out the struts... i don't think this is an issue but what do you guys think?

they stayed the same no need

also "aotoyota" can tell a bit more

My Turn~.

1) As asked before with 18x8 rims that have a 40 mm offset, no rubbing correct?

That should be fine, im running 19x8.5 with a +35 offset and rubbed a whole lot to where I cut the fender out.. How lostsoul isnt rubbing makes me scratch my head?

2) How much better is the performance over the stock SLE setup?

I have an se sport and it got much smoother after I was lowered on stock wheels, it felt more stable in ever aspect but without sacrificing ride quality ( according to gf too)

3) Did you install them yourself and how hard would you say it is. (did you need an alignment after as well?)

buddy and I did it, and alignment is a must! it as bad bad, I did it after two weeks to let it all settle,

install looked easy, since my buddy did most of it and was about 3-4hrs? biggest pain was removing the back seat and everything else. on a diff note, I changed to kyb strut mounts also, since I had new shocks and springs, might as well change the mount too. cant tell you if it made a diff, but the new one seemed more sturdy?

4) Did the camber of your wheels stay straight? i have been told that i should look into a camber adjustment kit if i change out the struts... i don't think this is an issue but what do you guys think?

it took the guys at toyota 3 hrs but they got it to practically straight.
shouldnt require a camber kit since they are factory trd springs, and are made within the cars suspension geometry.

and for the record, I believe we are the only two who have this suspension? i was the first and Lostsoul was the second? Why everyone buys the SE sport shocks still confuses me? since the oem shock says
KYB on it also... and they are about twice as much?

seems to me a +40ffset should be ok to run without rubbing?

and if it does, an airsaw + grinder fixes just about everything!

can someone chime in on the TRD wheel offset? arent they 40ish or something?
