gnegroni-

ive actually never had a smog test on any of my cars yet. My last car i sold just before i was suppose to get one. I know for sure that my car will not pass a smog test. I think we have the strictest emission laws in all 50 states (stupid hippy environmentalist).

I read all over that i would have a loss in torque but tbh my car never pulled better. I have a full cat back exhaust so that helped out with my torque a lot. THe weird thing is, i got my cel light code turned off and they told me the code was from having the car ignition turned on when the o2 sensor was not plugged it. Ever since they reset the cel no more light came on (Which is really werid). I haven't even done the non fowler trick or the ssafc yet. But i'm still going to get my ssafc from tacti and do a dyno tune to make best use of all my mods :). I agree with you my car feels strongest at 3k +.. I get a huge boost at 4000-5000k. Gnegroni what mods do u have done to ur car?

Bah, you ppl can just call me G!

As of mods, I have absolutely no mods yet... I had the K&N replacement filter, but took it out for cleaning... no cleaning solution... so it is replaced by stock filter until I purchase or find the cleaning solution (any substitutes?).

On modding, planned some but I was never excused from smog tests. I have to see how I'm going to work it out... even though emissions tests are not as heavy here as in Cali. PoPos worry me a lot... they are severely underpaid here...and basically local laws are against ANY modification.

First it was the GF and house, and getting married, etc., etc., now unemployment. I was planning on the High compression mod route even though it won't produce as much HP as with turbo... need more info on compliance and mods around here. Liked High comp NA due to more efficiency out of engine without more fuel... up to a point. If possible, lighter...After the 60k warranty expired, I might experiment a bit with an old trusty mechanic (racer) near University.

In the meantime, I salute guys like you, tacti and several others I may be missing...

Well, since you ask about mods... my dream ($$$) is to build a 2AZ-FSE (direct injection) to a high compression 12.5:1 (up from 11.0:1 stock), but it is not commonly known. The hybrid 2AZ-FXE has 12.5:1 pistons, but its an atkinson engine...meaning it doesn't compress as much as it expands. Also, direct injection upgrades are not as easily found... have to look more into that.

Once again, I'm dreaming!

Well, they are just trying it on Scion xB... but never tried anywhere else. They just say High Compression NA care pull like beasts. Saw a 300hp NA Subaru and it rocked!
