Clutch Advice on Gen 2 Solara se

Postby lemmez » Tue Apr 15, 2008 11:36 pm

Hey guys i need advice. Its time to replace my clutch after 60,000 miles. i know it sounds like just a little but i really f*** it up when i first learned to drive it. My master cylinder failed on me a month ago and while i was getting that replaced the "stealership" said that i needed a new clutch. I've also noticed slippage when shifting into gears and lag. i will not be boosting my car.

What kind of clutch do you guys recommend?

What brand for oem fit?

I know theres only a few of us that have the gen 2 manuals but all your input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I found this website with a couple different options. 2 of them are "performance clutches". I know they probably aren't as good as the trd set up but they dont cost 500$. What do you guys think? have you heard of any of these brands?

Dunno price, but TRD has one for our cars:

BTW, isn't you car warranty covering drivetrain up until 60k miles?

I would say go with Exedy, OEM type or Stage 1. I've always heard good things about Exedy, I'm sure ACT and CM are both great clutches though.

....did you ride your clutch or just dump it repetitively?
