Wow, that looks amazing so far! I want to be able to even to the clear reflectors mode, but you're going all out buddy! I can't wait to see the results :) .

Don't forget a final project price, yeah?

as far as shields go u think it can be reached from the back opening to bend it closed or will i need to open the HL up

You need to open up the headlight, it's a metal piece of bracket between the lense and bulb holder and its impossible to get to without opening up the headlight. If you find a way of bending the shield without opening up the headlight, please let us know. :D

As for which way to bend, I would bend it towards the bulb holder, and not towards the lense. Again, if you don't want to weld it like Milt, you should cover it up with aluminum tape.

If you really want to spend some time doing a good retrofit, I would swap the lense with clear lenses. The rippled lenses from the Solara is not going to do it. Also, if you still have the RX330 projectors, I would experiment a bit. Notice how the cutoff shield from the RX300 is different from the Solara. The Solara cutoff shield is made for halogen, notice how its a U shape. The RX330 has a more defined m shape. If you could somehow cut a piece of aluminum tape and cover up a portion of the U shape on the Solara cutoff and have it match the RX330 cutoff, you would have HID projectors instead of that stupid U shape halogen that we get. I hope you understand what I mean. 8)

I do understand, but I am not seeing a "u" shape. I have a straight cutoff. Even the sides don't flare upward.

Seal the headlights with butyl tape. It's OEM and much more forgiving than silicone. Butyl seals on contact rather than having to dry like other sealants. Butyl will allow the dissamble of the headlights in the future, if need be. It's sold at car part stores, ebay, etc and fairly cheap for a roll. I sealed my headlights with this in 10 minutes for the pair and never had a leak.

can't wait to see your final results, wonder how much diff it'll be over stock.
where many hate, few will love,
But for those who love,
they'll see what it's like to live.
