Splash (Mud) Guards Added

Splash (Mud) Guards Added

After seeing a recent post by Pxlpainter showing his long list of mods one item stuck in my noggin :arg: ...the splash guards. He even provided a helpful link for them.

After a week of trying to find a picture of a Solara (other than his) with the guards installed and coming up empty I decided to take a chance and order the parts. I'm really happy I did. These are OEM quality parts, everything lines up and the installation couldn't be easier.

I've posted pics and the install. Scroll to the last item on this Gadget page: http://www.gadgetjq.com/solara/appearance.htm

Cheers

Mine were considerably more expensive than yours, $39 per set. One reason for the price is the paint. All colors except the pearl are about $10 less.

I got them from Toyota of Dallas: http://trdparts4u.com/MC-CAII-DA.aspx

Here's my wife's previous ride, I wish I seen this post earlier. We got them back in '04 and painted they were $110 total. Here are pics anyways...

Got mine last year... came already painted but when you look at it in the right light, you can tell they don't exactly match either. :(

Does anybody know, is there any difference between these mudguards, except the color painting (i'm asking because they have different shape on the pictures)?

It's hard to tell but that first picture 'might' actually be of a rear mudguard. The front and rear 'are' shaped differently to fit the appropriate body panel but once installed they look like they should have been there all along.

You can see the actual 'mounted' pictures here:

Maybe there's 2 types of mudguards: smaller color-painted and bigger black (maybe made of rubber)?

i had the black plastic ones on there when i bought the car, just on the front, the only thing i know is you got to be super carful with them, they are the frist thing to scrape other than your airdam, but, its a good warning system!
