CP-e purchase questions

Sorry, I'm going to sound real newbish right now, please bear with me.

When buying the CP-e, what is the "pre-filter?" And is it important/necessary?

And how beneficial/necessary is the tuneable version of the CP-e? A little short on cash, getting the non-tunable is going to break me, so, i was wondering. (Also short on time, really busy lately.)

And, I hear that it's easier to install the CP-e with the picture guide. Is there any way to request it from the start? Or if you guys can e-mail it to me that would be cool too, once I get it. :)

Thanks a load in advance.

I thought there was a post with pics in the tutorial section but it was for the injen intake. Bumped the only thread I saw.

Programmable -vs- non.programmable is a good question. If you are running a stock exhaust the non should be ok. If you decide to upgrade the exhaust later on you can exchange the MAF for a programmable one for a fee. I had spoken with them when taking into consideration the header project PXLpainter is spearheading.

After buying the tunable version I see that only a handful of people will ever use it - and most people (including ME!) won't attempt it again.

You really have to be a tuner or know someone who has a shop that can dyno-tune it for you and if you don't plan of really tweaking the mix, then I'd advise against getting the tunable version. ;)

Besides - if you get the JPP Headers/Y-pipe down the line, it will require removing the CP-e MAF unit and replacing it with a custom box from Split Second - which will be provided with the headers. :D
