I refuse to put HID's in a halogen reflector. If I am going to do it, I am going to do it proper.

silly boy, HID + halogen reflector = ricer x 10000000

+1.
sorry Phil, not everyone has the time or money to do a retrofit for projectors. you gen 2s are lucky you guys have them.
so I'm happy with my HIDs in my halogen reflector. as i'm sure many other people are too.
where many hate, few will love,
But for those who love,
they'll see what it's like to live.

Good idea - just be careful that you don't burn up your wiring harness or sockets! ;)

blinding oncoming traffic just to look cool because you like the color of the lights?

HID's in a halogen reflector dont put the light where it should it be. It scatters it. you get hot spots, uneven light, and tons of glare. Now if the Fogs were halogen projectors, it might be acceptable. But regular halogen reflectors cannot handle the light from and HID. It wasn't designed for it.

its ricey to me, thats all. Just my opinion. I know its not everyones.

I really am not trying to start a fight in this instructional thread.

some cars came with HID reflectors. The Acura TL (the 1999 bodystyle) and some others.

But I am referring to Halogen reflectors and HID's PnP kits. Its illegal and not very safe.

Hey, if you want a cheap set of HIDs then be on the lookout for my next group buy. Just save your pennies and dimes until you can get $120 and wait until November-December when I start it up again :) . This time I'm going big!
