TRD SPRINGS --> time for CO's or BETTER STRUTS?

I saw some of ya mentioned pricing for the COs, but I gather you didn't mention TRD spring price since the post is not considering upgrading to TRD, but rather from-TRD. Still, what is the price difference from the TRD spring setup? COs are a complete setup complete with springs and shock absorbers, rather than just springs like the TRD set?

That is correct.

Tein COs go for about $1200
TRD springs go for about $200-250

In addition to being a complete setup, the COs are also adjustable for ride height and stiffness. Much more functionality than just the TRD springs (but they are about 10x the price)

Correct me if I'm wrong, I thought CO's bounce around to much.
They don't make any struts for my wife's 04 camry so I thought of going CO's but afraid of a bouncy ride.

Is it a stiff ride, soft, feels like????

Thank you

My COs are a stiff ride, but they are still comfortable for everyday driving (I have them set all the way stiff)
Milts COs are SUPER STIFF (he has K-Sports for his Gen 3 Camrys)

I would not classify my ride as bouncy at all, still smooth IMO.

Milts Gunmetal Camry (with custom spring rates and COs set very stiff) is a little bouncy -- because it is so stiff (if that makes sense) But its not bad bouncy like cut/heated springs.

You're right Posh...but regarding "adjustable for ride height" the Tein doesn't offer a nice choice : 2" to 3" that's it that's all. I'm a bit mad because I wanted something like the JIC Magic VIP (2000$) can offer 0.5" to 3.5" and they have to be customized...they're not available for now...they need a Solara car to customize and test it. But for Cal people Tein C/O are perfect ! :P

I was thinking of going the same route. I want to lower this car so bad. Yet I'm afraid of the stiffness in C/O's. If I can get the ride quality anywhere NEAR oem, i'd be very happy to get CO's

if you are planning on lowering in any way, your going to lose ride quality. if you want the closest quality to oem then coilovers is your way to go. i have eibach/se sport struts on mine and its a little bouncy.

My biggest worry with the coilovers is the salt up here in the northeastern winters. Afraid the salt will get in the threads and seize / rust those things solid.

But I like the idea of being able to adjust from .5 to 2 that would be great, and up hear in the north would totally be worth the added cost. I know crispone would probably be agree with that.

Plus I would think that kind of adjustment would give you the added ride adjustment from smooth the racing stiff. LOL just like my honeymoon was. LOL

Again Tein official number (and I wrote Tein about it) are -2 to -3 inches drop. I wanted the samething as you...closest to 0 as possible in winter and 2 inches drop in summer time. Tell me if you do with Tein but I'm almost sure you will get an horrible ride quality in winter. JIC Magic has a VIP product line (way more expensive tho) but designed to do a 0.5 to 3.5 inches drop with the same ride quality at whatever the drop height ! they sell them around 2200$ instead of 1200$ for the Tein. the main problem JIC has only designed coilovers for the Gen 1 Solara suspension...not Gen 2 yet. I think it would be a good idea for them to do so with Gen 2 Solara and 2002-2006 Camry. If you're interested you could write them about it and specified it would be for a 2004-2008 Toyota Solara. Maybe someday they will offer it !
