Today's WOOT! (tire pressure sensors)

Saw these tire pressure sensors on Woot today. Looks pretty cool. I might have to see about a set.

BTW, woot is a one-day sale kind of thing. Tire Pressure Monitor is only available on 3/28/2007. However, the name of the product is Valet 9104 4-Sensor Tire Pressure Monitoring System with Display.

I think these are a waste of time. They were standard on my 2007 Solara. I transfer tires on my rims for winter driving and each time you switch there is a chance they will break. Some tire shops charge extra for tire change over with them. Dealer says they see broken ones that they replace because of lack of knowledge on how to handle them at tire shops. Save your money and check your own pressure.
That write up makes it seem like it is the hardest task in the world.

What's wrong with the one's ON the car OEM? ('04 gen2 SE Sport here...)

(My tire pressure sensors have always worked PERFECTLY. Two weeks ago, my pressure light came on... and a couple "resets" did not solve the issue... so I checked all the tires and found a NAIL still in the right rear. I had the tire repaired, reset the sensor, and now all is "well" again. )

What more could I want?

Or just hit it at the source: have an automatic tire fill pump!

That's surreal (James Bond stuff :) ) but would solve all our problems. Next we could use an automatic tire repairing unit and auto-pilot and....

^^ You mean like they had on the H1 Hummer? ;)

These sensors are more like what the G35 has - NOT like the Solara that only measures tire diameter (RPMs at the wheel) - NOT tire pressure - which can mean up to a 10 lbs + difference before that is noticed.

There's a discussion about this somewhere if you can get the Search to dish it up for ya! ;)

These type of sensors should give you the actual tire pressure at each wheel - and WHICH wheel it's measuring.

When my tire pressure sensor lits up, my tire pressure is about 25-26 psi. My default tire pressure is 30-32...or should it be a bit higher?
