New Optima battery (My Review)

Optima Batteries - IMHO->Run Away!

Postby nowlen » Thu Mar 15, 2007 7:38 pm

I too, fell victim to the marketing hype of the optima - I bought one to replace a OEM battery that lasted 9 years. In 11 months the Optima just died overnight - no biggie - they replaced it for free. 14 months later the second died - big battle to get it replaced for free. Since then I've left a trickle charger on it when I'm not using it for a week or so and this third one has held up for 2 years now. Keeping my fingers crossed, but a $150 battery should not have these problems. I won't buy another, but that's just my experience.

good purchase.

i myself got a Duralast Gold battery for $75 when my OEM battery died months after installing my system. hasnt let me down yet from real heavy draws...im talkin about headlights on and interior lights on with the engine off, watching a movie with surround sound and all while charging my ipod for a good 45 minutes.

i wouldnt dream of doing this regularly i just wanted to see if i could push it a bit..started up like a dream lol
