Hid problem

Hid problem

Postby Biggi_e » Mon Dec 04, 2006 9:31 pm

ok so my right headlight(hids) has been out for about 2 weeks or so and today after i finished eating dinner i got dropped back off to my car. i turned it on and turned the lights on and boom both were working. it took me about 15 minutes to get home and i parked and checked the lights. i turned the car off and then waiting a minute or so and turned it back on and the light was out again..

is this a ballast problem? i was very close to buy a new bulb but im not sure anymore.

any help is appreciated. :fadein:

Mine was doing that also. Turned out a contact inside the adapter harness had backed out. I just snapped it back together and everything was fine.

I had same problem with my HID

Once my color started to fade away and that was the wiring problem

Right bulb wasn't work properly because of the ballast

Both HID turned off, and turned back on, and turn off and repeated this couple of times and it was the fuse problem

I think it's a wiring problem, or a bad ballast. If it's warrantied, send in the ballast and get a new one :).

Like someone else said. The real test is to just switch the bulbs and see if you still have a problem. If it moved with the bulb or stayed with the ballast, or if its gone it might have just been the connection.

PS - I havent had any issues with my HIDs, except when i leave my lights in the on position and they come on right when i turn the car on. Sometimes one doesnt ignite. When i leave it on auto they come on a few seconds after ignition, and they both come on everytime.

I had that problem once before, check all wires first if it still doesnt work try to unhook them from the factory harnes and do a direct connect to the + and - of the battery. If still nothing happens it could be a bad ballast.
