but i hardly know anything about cars
but i was wondering if it were possible to swap in the new 3.5L v6 engine from the '07 camry's into a gen 2 solara?

Wouldn't you have to swap engine & tranny together?

Probably a more solid tranny than we got in the first place! :roll:

Don't forget the ECU! That could be a bit of a project in itself. It may have required ties to the tranny too.

Actually I've heard reports of premature tranny failures on the 07 V6's already :(

Anyways, standard stuff needed for a swap:

Engine
Transmission
Axles
Front Subframes
Custom Motor/Transmission Mounts
New ECU
New/Modified Existing Wiring Harness
Shift Assembly
Gauge Pod

There's a lot of stuff that would need to be done, and definentely time/labor intensive.

Speed costs money...how fast do you want to go? :p

For the price of all that you could just buy a better/faster car. Unless you are just in love with the shape of the solara.
