Is there Header System for V6 ?

cp-e speculated 20+ to the wheels after looking at my stock headers. Josh found lots of design issues that may be making our exhaust more of a choke point than our intake. (note that the Gen1 Intake had better numbers than us, the Mazda got about double.) Our stock intake wasn't that restrictive. Opening up the pipe only lead to <2HP gain. The tuning does the other 8HP. So the theory is that if the exhaust was opened up, not only would a stock car get a huge benefit, but the cp-e intake would be even more beneficial. Performance mods can't be assumed to be additive. But in this case, opening up the exhaust may make the stock intake a choke point. (In which case the 3.5" pipe gets to shine)

Can't tell until someone makes it but you've dealt with Josh, they are wizards in that shop. Phreak prolly has a better handle on it than I do though. Nice to have a friend in the business!

I like those guys at CP-E. I wish there was more interest in this car in the after market, but no one seems to be making the stuff, cause no one seems to be buying. Even I am to blame there, although I did get all the suspension parts I can find. I am looking for brakes now, and I can only find front rotors, no rears - although there are plenty of performance pads to choose from. Does anyone have a lead on these? I will check the threads.

Next car I am doing the research beforehand and buying one with an established performance parts after market. The Gen 2 was brand new in early 04 when I got mine, but I figure since the Gen1 after market was responsive, the Gen 2 would be as well.

I am really hoping for a Solara R from Toyota, but that doesn't seem to be in the cards either. I would take a bath on my financing to get, say, a tuned 3.5L V6 in that puppy, with a stiffer sport suspension as stock.

Yeah CP-e MAFci system gives me 11 whp...around 15 hp.

drace99 wrote:Can we guess how much HP a set of headers would give us? Then maybe we can generate interest. After hearing about the cp-e intake and a definate 10 hp I was totally interested. The main point being how much HP we talkin about 10, 15, 20 or more. The more HP at the wheels, the more I am willing to pay.

headers sound nice
where many hate, few will love,
But for those who love,
they'll see what it's like to live.

why's everyone unearthing ancient threads this week?
p.s. Drace was asking about the expected header boost.

Because that's what happens when people use the SEARCH function and the most relevant topics come to the surface! ;)

Just because something may be discussed in another (possibly newer) thread, doesn't mean it's searchable by topic/keyword! :-?

It is with the TRD muffler...

About why I talked about CP-e MAFci power...it's because drace99
wasn't sure about it.
