It's the feel of control. The car isn't getting into a turn and putting major pressure on the outter edge of the outter tire. Instead you have all four tires planted so it's balanced throughout the turn. I love it. Hit a 40mph exit at 70 this weekend and the car scoffed at it. Full control, no lean.

Re: fstb rsb + lower springs?

Postby DaTwUnKrAziEpInOy » Sun Apr 23, 2006 11:53 pm
Hi all,

New to the group and lovin my 06 sle convertible but hate the handling. My MPV stock minivan handles better!

Just wondering if I plan on keeping a stock wheel/tire set-up will I get the most bang for the buck for improved handling by doing the sway bars front/rear or lowering springs.

I've looked over a few threads here and someone said the lowering springs are more for ride than handling. I'm just worried the lowering springs would mean alignment problems compared to just getting the sway bars.

Sounds like the convertible gets a lot of improved handling from the fstb compared to the coupe.

Any recommendations on installation places in NorCal? Preferrably Bay Area.

Fantastic site btw. You guys keep a pretty tight ship on the flames and a lot of useful info too.

BTW - anyone have a pdf for the installation of the rsb?
Hey Where in the Bay area are you from ?? I'm bout 2 hours away from there and I can hook you up with your install.

^^^ That was weeks ago... he's an old pro by now. Once he saw the pics in the tutorial he was cool with the install.

Actually I got the RSB at UPS on Friday and couldn't find time to install it yet.

Father of three and weekend of kids parties kept me from the install. But I've got a guy who's gonna do it for me when he does my next oil and rotation so thanks but no thanks on the offer.

Still anxious to have it on but some of us can't just can't get the time to do all the upgrading we want to do...

2006 SLE, convertible, lunar mist/blacktop/leather/GFX TRD rsb on it's way

You'll have to change your sig to 'TRD rsb in the garage'

...which is where mine sat for about three weeks too.

Re: Suspension affecting alignment specs

TRD makes it so their springs/struts can be used without changing OEM alignment specs. I have run TRD on two cars and never changed from factory spec and never had a problem with tire wear, etc. Jon.

LOL, yeah it's still there today. Hopefully by this weekend I'll have the rsb on and be able to properly clean and spray the ragtop.

I keep looking at the tutorial to talk myself into doing it myself, but who knows...

Well, still thankful for getting this FSTB from Reg - handles like a dream! (just wish it shifted as smoothly now!) :-?

I highly suggest getting one if you haven't already (especially you rag top owners!)
