Your post is a bit confusing but I'll try to reply. You can try to get the Sport kit from Toyota but the general concensus seems to be that it's tough to get, let alone expensive. The EVO kit popped up on here awhile ago, but it was ugly and there were various complaints given on issues that I can't recall. Try searching the forums using the search function if you want more info.

Unfortunately you don't have many options with a Gen2 Solara, but Toyota's sport kit, in my opinion, finishes the car off perfectly. Good luck.

Haven't seen you around in a while SPF. Been hiding?

I was at the Toyota dealership last night, for service, and was reading the Solara accessory brochure. It says taht the body kit can only be ordered with delivert of a new vehicle. Why is that? Why wouldn't they want to sell accessories to anyone who wanted to buy them?

I think its because that it might be something thats installed at the docks before delivery at the dealership. I don't think its a factory install. A lot of accessories are installed this way - including leather seats in some manufacturers cars. But since our Solaras are built in the US, maybe it is?? It would sure be great to find a deal on the parts - even unpainted though.

My plan is to nag my father to get a Solara and when he breaks down I'll have him get the GE and have it transfered to mine. 8)

He's got a 99 Celica ragtop and the more he drives mine, the more jealous he is of the power, feel and look. So I look for ways to get him in my driver's seat. Only two more years to make it happen.

Note: Any SE's out there... if you ever total your car or plan to sell it, you can make an extra chunk of cash be selling the GE kit separately. Taking it off surely doesn't lower the value by $1k and most folks won't know it was supposed to be there.
