LOOKING FOR CF TRUNK LID

Postby Phylum » Tue Jun 20, 2006 6:06 am

superlara: If you search the forum you'll see a post started by me RE: CF parts for the Solara. I've spoken with some folks at Seibon and they don't have anything instock - they simply don't make CF parts for our whips BUT they were/are willing to do a group buy of I think 20 or more.
However, there's always a caveat, due to the 'carbon fiber shortage' they will not be taking on any custom projects.

Maybe Mark can keep us in the loop when this fiber shortage is no longer an issue and we can pick up a few parts. I too am looking for a CF trunk lid with spoiler without the 'Yota' bump along with several other parts (hood, fenders, front/rear end, side skirts/gfx). But of course that will cost me top dollar.

Hey Superlara - you've been talking about custom paint and stuff - but how are you coming with the CF hood you're having someone make for you (or that you ordered) - it's been a couple weeks now - is it still coming?

Just anxious to see what it looks like! ;)

You know - I've owned two civics before they were supposedly "cool" (a 1989 and a 1991) because at the time I had 3 small kids in booster seats and after going from dealer to dealer, it was the ONLY compact at the time that you could put all 3 seats in the back side by side!

I loved the cars right up to the time the leases ran out and only got something bigger cuz the kids insisted on growing too!

I really like the new slick design of the Civic as I see them on the road all the time.

I'll probably get boo'd for saying that, but I still think they're cool lookin'. ;)

You can get any carbon fiber part you want for your car, from trunks, to doors, to a pillars and more.

Only thing is you'l be shelling out a LOT of money for someone to fab it all up.

Keep us updated if you are ever able to get one from ECC Motorsports.

Personally, I think their website is pretty shoddy. I hesitate to send $450 via paypal through a website that looks like this. Has anyone actually been to this shop?
