Carbon Fiber Front Wind Splitter (APR Performance)

This would be a bit more than I'd get away with on a company car, but I can see some great potential on Gen 1 and Gen 2 Solaras.

IMO, I could see this looking good across the gap of the GEN2 SE sport front body kit. I don't car much for the "side canard" look, but this has potential.

They do custom work. I figure if a template made of wood were sent to them, it wouldn't take them long to make a prototype.

Any thoughts?

I contacted them yesterday evening...

"Hi Julius,

Thank you for contacting APR PERFORMANCE.
Currently, APR does not have the requested application Splitter.
But, we would able to custom make one.
For custom make a splitter, we will need a bumper shape template.

First, use a large sheets of paper or cardboard, place underneath the front
bumper.
Draw the bumper bottom outline.
Fold it up then send to us.

Cost for custom splitter; $320+ shipping
Estimated working time; 4 weeks.

*Bumper length cannot exceed 72".
*Bottom of the bumper requires at lease 3"~ 4" of flat surface all around to mount the splitter.

Sincerely,
Peter

I dunno if I want to spend $320+ on something that won't really help me in the near future. I imagine it only really helps at high speeds like 40/45mph+ I'd rather get my intake, carbon fiber hood, RSB, and springs/coil overs/struts first.

I dont' think that would work with the current GE kit - it needs more surface area along the bottom of the bumper to mount to it sounds - plus the current kit is split in the middle.

I'm wondering if it would look too ricey though??

Hey Brian, so did you decide to do this? My guy is still sold out, they're hard to come around.Ofcourse the time where i actually sold mine, u were interested lol.. I would only do this if you have the cf hood to match.I'm not sure how it would look on our rides with the front kit cuz there would be a small gap in the middle left open, but then again it could look hot. You're whole color set up of ur ride is definitely calling for some carbon fiber.

I didn't know about the $320 for custom made splitters. (Not bad)

Personally, I think the SE sport GE kit would be OK with it. A CF hood would be the touch it needs to complete the look. Especially on an all black car. Dang, that would be hot.

For me personally, it a bit too aggressive looking. (Not that it is a bad thing) My personal priorities have shifted and I've stopped doing mods to the Solara. (for now) I have a project Z that needs my time, money and manpower.

I'm just concerned about modifying the stock bumper ;) I'd rather get an aftermarket bumper or cabon fiber bumper then add that splitter.
Hrm but then I lose the ground effects :(

Can one remove the ground effects - are they bolt on or glued?
