Check in the tutorial section for the steering wheel controls. MichaelT posted the harness/pin that needs to be grounded once you remove the junk from the stock HU. The display button shares a ground with that.

I haven't seen mikes thread, but are you sure about that?

The yellow wire may also be the power wire which would be a real bad thing to ground

Yup, yup, it's the yellow wire. Chris, have you grounded yours yet? Or the PAC?

Isn't that unit double din?
if it's a double din, i think you can connect the steering control wires directly into the head unit.
i'm not sure, but i think i read it somewhere.
can anyone confirm?

btw, it is a great head unit.

yellow Wire

Postby Kjk747 » Mon May 01, 2006 6:42 pm

Hey Guy's it is the yellow wire. It has grey spots on it right next to the blue and green wires. Ground this wire out anywhere on the metal body houdsing or anything that is attached to it(besides plastic obviously). I also installed my pioneer avic n2 and yes I am the most skeptical person about posts but the bypass does work. after like staying up almost all night deciding wether or no to do it, But for anyone who is like me and still undecided it is true if you jump r197 and ground out parking brake your off withouht limitations.
