RSB Help on Convertible
I put my FTSB and RSB on today. The FTSB went problem free (how could it not). But I had issues with the RSB.
I had the car jacked with one wheel off, so I had plenty of working room, but I couldn't get the RSB wiggled out for the life of me. There were two braces that ran from the side of the frame, just in front of either rear wheel, and braced to the center of the car just under the well for the spare tire. I had to remove these two braces to give me the room to remove the RSB. It was easy once they were out of the way.
I was wondering if these braces are unique to the convertible. I read once about them adding bracing in the recent models to avoid body flex. I thought these might those extra braces.
Has anyone else with a 2006 convertible done their own RSB? Did you have issues with these braces too?
But my big question is whether I might have risked any type of flex issue by removing and replacing these while the car was jacked, instead of resting on a flat surface.
I don't have any real road tests yet, but I'm amazed at the difference cornering through my neighborhood. I just have some lingering questions about those braces.
