Ideas for my car

Ideas for my car

Postby Lucky » Wed Apr 12, 2006 9:24 pm

Ok, I'll be getting my Solara in a week or so off my cousin. It's a 2005 convertible SE Sport w/ leather. It's completely stock so I'm going have some work to do. I have some ideas as to what I'm going to do. Here is a pic of the car (well one similar to what I'm getting).

Ok, I'm going to stick some 18's or 19's on it, lip kit, mud flaps (maybe?), TRD pipe, and lower it 1" to 1.5". As you can see, I'm going to make it look good before I go to the performance stuff. Do ya'll have any other suggestions on what I can do to make it look better or something I shouldn't do? Thanks guys!

Oh yea, I was thinking about getting the Mike T grills but I'm not sure if they'll look good with that tan top... what ya'll think?

Mikes grilles will look fine w/ the top. The top kind of prevents you doing the black/red thing (like Phreak's) so you're locked into polished imo.

instead of 18's i'd go with 19's on a gen2. its a bigger car so 18's might not look so big on it. 19's would be perfect. the lip kit is good. the trd muffler is good also. i'd install an intake along with the muffler as well. drop it, like you said. tint, and a mikeT grille (if you can find one) would set it off. unfortunately the aftermarket performance for the gen2 is weak. you can find a few things but nothing major. good luck, welcome and post some pix when you get it! almost forgot, the SOLARAGUY sticker!!!!!!

Yes I was definately planning on going with the Phreakd look while I thought the top was black but after I found out the top was tan I knew I had to go polished but oh well, polished is nice too.

By TRD pipe I meant tail pipe.

And yea, I was thinking that with the lip kit I wouldn't be able to put on the flaps but I wasn't sure... of those two, I'll take the lip kit.

Yea, I'll take pictures as the car progresses. It's going to take all summer and then some is the problem though. I'll be getting my job making maybe a little over $10 a hour. I'll also have my graduation money to help but I'd say I'll spend most of that when I make my journey to watch ND play this season.
