The Polishing Shop... chrome your OEM wheels

The Polishing Shop... chrome your OEM wheels

This looks very interesting! I love the 17" alloys now. I just would like them more if they were chrome. I was searching the internet and came across this website. Anyone familiar with it? It says it's cheaper because you exchange your OEM wheels for chromed OEM wheels.

This might be very interesting and depending on the price, I might try it out. I've sent an email asking for information, but I'll let ya'll know.

I would like to get new wheels, but I don't want a 4x4 look. Some phat 19"s would be sweet, but I'd have to lower the car a bit to make it look right. I've already knicked the front ground effects and getting it lowered would be bad in my neighborhood. My driveway alone would eat the front lip every day, if the car was lowered.... so sticking with stock wheels and height might be the best idea for me.

The chrome OEM wheels with the billet grill (or Mike T's chrome grill [haven't decided yet]) might be sweet looking.

[edit] I guess I should post the link. http://thepolishingshop.com/exchange.htm

Didn't have time to click through the link... but ebay has it too... they send you a set that's chromed, and you send them yours... do a search to see if there are any current auctions... they come and go...

Ebay, nice.

I didn't see any of the Solara 17" wheels listed at the moment. At least I have an idea of price, though. Seems to be much cheaper than a whole set of new rims.

I wonder how good this is to do. I don't want to trade my rims for some crappy chrome job that's going to flake off in a year or two... or even maybe 10. I like to keep my cars for a long time... had my last toyota for almost 10yrs (gen 2 Paseo, '96 model).

I have the 17" stockers chromed from that company on ebay. I love them. Check out my ride of Car Domain. It's a great deal. I have done a few things since being away from this website. I am customixzing the interior also with wood and chrome accents. When I am done, i will be sharing pictures.

It was 500.00 + about 70.00 for shipping. They send you the wheels first with shipping labels to send your wheels back. Very simple. I was very happy with the transaction.

I'd much rather have graphite, machined, etc over chrome nowadays.

That's just me... I was into chrome a few years ago but I think there's a lot classier & sportier options now that look much, much better.

I think in a lot of cases chrome looks like you're trying too hard for attention.

Not trying to start up ish, everyone has their own style.

My wheels look like there were OEM and then chromed... But I didn't have it done - it was like that when I bought it almost 10 days ago. But the pic will give you an idea of what they look like! I have gotten a lot of comments on them!
