new WHEELS!! best place to buy?

I think I'm going to go with the shiny look. Chrome or Polished Aluminum... Aluminum would probably be best. Also, I'm thinking... hmm... 18's or 19"s maybe?

I know there are some wheel/tire posts in here, but I'm still trying to determine the best size to keep the speed-o-meter right.

Also, I would perfer to not lower the car any. My drive-way is a pain, and a lowered car would eat my front lip. Would the 19's look like a 4x4 if I don't lower it?

Other than chrome looking wheels, I have no idea what look I want. If you know, please post links to websites that might show what the new wheels would look like on my car.

Thanks again!

Start here: http://www.tirerack.com/

IMO 19" or 20" rims would look good even if you don't lower your ride.

Where do you live? I want to buy your OEM wheels off of you if you're pretty close by and it's for a decent price.

Hey Cosmic, if you want an idea how your car would look like on 19s check out one of member's cars at

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/666259

Chris has a few pics BEFORE he lowered his ride with Eibach springs and AFTER. Maybe that'll help you decide what type of look you want to go for.

If your worried about scraping then you probably shouldnt drop..Unless u get some SWITCHES if u know what i mean OR remodel your driveway lol.

I would say start and finish here. However, they dont carry some very popular brands. I bought my wheels from them a week ago. Tirerack is the best online place I have shopped at.

check out discounttires.com or tires.com, (same site) great place, theyll do anything to help you plus they have a much better selection than tire rack IMO. i'd say go with 19's, they look large but not too large. if you dont lower it could look like a car/4x4 so i'd say lower it. maybe coilovers? that way you could lower it just enough to keep it from scraping up and down your driveway.

wheel/tire size is a matter of proprotion...you might have always the same overall diameter from 15" to 20" ( the gap between wheels in fender will always be almost the same)...I can explain it to you but I think the best way is that you understand yourself refering to http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp

Increase wheel diameter to decrease 4x4 effect (but the gap between wheel and fender will remain the same)

Get gold w/ polished lip. It will look HOT on red.

What kinda widths/offsets do Solara's run? I'll see if I can get you and good deals on anything I have in stock.

I've said it before I've had great experiences with Superbuytires.com, and you can't beat their selection.
