Actually, I figured it out too after I posted :)

There's another post around that describes difference between Red/Orange/Yellow...

I'm not sure which one fits the Gen 2 but here's the thread on the different ones http://www.solaraguy.org/viewtopic.php?t=19093.

Also I just called Optima today because I needed that extension piece for my yellow top and they were the easiest/nicest people to deal with.

I don't see a reason why you couldn't use the same in the gen2 and the gen1. The battery sits in the same location. I'm using yellow top D35.
