fatalNJ wrote:You need an H11 for the headlights and you can use a 9005 for the foglights...even though they say h10! The h11 took me forever to find since they're pretty much brand new, but the 9005's should be at your local auto shop...I think the 9005's are also called HB3's. The Solara looks nice with the blue!

i just tried myself today with putting 9005 into H10 foglight. OH MY GOD!
it perfectly fit, and even the power socket fits well too.
so, i was wonder what was the different.
here is what i realized...
stock H10- 43watt
stock 9005 - 85watt
after market 9005 - usually boost up from 85watt to 100watt...

here is the deal,
if u just directly replace H10 with stock 9005, u r acutally jumping from 43watt to 85watt. um, that's 42watt difference. i better PRAY that ur socket wont' melt.
if u upgrade H10 to aftermarket 9005, u r jumping from 43watt to 100watt!! u BETTER WORRY that ur socket will MELT!!

just remind u about that, i dont' want u damage ur car in any way.
well, here is the trick. HID only consume 35watt.
so, it's not only SAFTEY fit; it also save ur car's power~ @.@
is that a hint for u ppl? ^^;
yeah, i'm upgrading my foglight tonight~
i will post up pix if anyone wanna see it
(i'm sorry for those who doens't have auto-dimmer on their car. i might remind foglight off at regular day if it's really killing ppl bright.)

The difference is about $400, HID is not plug and play, and HID's have about 50% brighter and whiter output.

50% brighter and whiter than what? Normal lights? The projectors on Gen2 are by themselves brighter than normal lights.

companies do make plug and play HID kits...
that's what i got.. @.@

anyway, i'm just back to here to say don't upgrade fog light to HID...
i'm very regret now...
it's too bright, and i believe cop will come after this....
so... i guess i will remaind my foglight off now...
which is a very STUPID decision overall.. sigh...

yeah i know...
i will be nice to the ppl on street; i will shut my foglight off at normal driving day.
except the time when i need to "show off" or the darkness place where u need ur high beam on. i will turn on foglight instead of high beam...
cause it actually works BETTER than high beam.. :o

and the light scatter out like crazy....

cover lower half of the glass, or jsut shut it off....

i have provide some video clip in my cardomain...
and i did show how crazy the scatter light is...
u might get some idea....
