OK, this will probably sound like a really dumb question, but what are "matrix dots"??

If you look inside the back rear window, near the top of it you'll see little dots. These things don't stick to the tint unless you use some sort of glue. If a tinter tints them without using any sort of glue, you'll see on the outside that it has a white fade look, and its not all that pretty.

Most tinters won't touch them, some will sand and/or glue them, some will use vinyl in that area instead.

Ah, OK. The drop top does not have dots on the rear, that's why I had no clue. The front window has dots, [sarcasm] but I don't think anyone would tint a front window [/sarcasm].

Thanks technole!

looks like some of you guys had some trouble getting it right on the matrix part. Fortunately enough mine came out fine, what they did was they sanded it down a bit with sandpaper and just worked their magic. Its also depended on the level of skill, the guys that did mine are the very best. If your in the Southern California, Los Angeles areas lemme know I can give u the location.

I kind of like it better when the matrix is not tinted, especially if the tint is 20%, because it almost blends in if you step back and look.

Agreed, I would worry about dots only if you go limo and darker. Everything up to 20% will blend nicely without doing anything to the dots.

You tinted your front windows!! I have never seen that before. That is very illegal and you should get pulled over since it's a hazard to you and other motorists! I've only seen this in commercials where the driver of the car is not seen.
