Would something like this work? I think a CAI might be too difficult to make, so what about a direct ram air setup?

hum, yeah, i don't think hood can be close either....
the factory leaves too little whole for intake.
the space between hood and body frame around intake system is about 15cm wide, and 2cm high.
so, very obvious, that thing wont fit at all.
i did make a similar thing on my solara. (everything done by soft metal.)
what i realized was it didn't help the car that much.
no imporovement in gas mileage or acceleration,
but it increase the chance that water might go into engine in a heavy raining day...
so, it was totally NOT a wise idea to do so...
anyway, i'm still trying to figure out a better way to modify intake system.
i might come back and update info...

btw, ebay is really selling all kinds strange things.. :o

I'm with boa. I don't think it'll work too well. I'm sorry if what I'm about to ask next is a re-post, but does anyone make an intake for our cars? I've looked on e-Bay and about a month ago I saw one for hte 4 banger. Nothing for the 6. Anyway...if someone knows where there is an intake availabe, please let me know.

Oh yea, I'm from FL...Gainesville/Orlando to be exact

^I don't think there's anything so far. The one on ebay you saw was a piece of junk.

That's what i figured. Man, why are we getting shafted with this car? It's been out for almost a year and nothing yet specifically made for it. Well, except that nasty, POS JT Auto Body Kit.

one thing that's went on in japan was this plastic "hose" technique . . . kinna looks like the kind from the outlet from a laundry dryer? somethin like that. it's like 3" in diameter, depending on application. but yea, several guys down here in hawaii use this cuz their cars don't have CAIs or CAI extensions.
