HID fitment for Solara ??

HID fitment for Solara ??

Postby nsx1164 » Fri Sep 24, 2004 9:19 am

Posted this in the Gen2 forums as well.

Any aftermarket/OE experience ??

In particular, has anyone explored retrofitting the Lexus ES330 HID setup ??

I'd consider getting the Lex instead, but they don't offer a coupe/convertible (at least not yet).

Thanks -- Manuel

Those are really good prices for the HIDs that krawzyazn (Mark) is offering. That's a solaraguy hook-up btw.

Welcome again!

The prices are not bad. Thanks.

Newbie question: what bulb/fitment does the Gen 2 Solara use for low beam ?? Is it still the 9005/9006 high/low setup like the older cars, or do they use something else?

You gotta use the owners manual man, its in the back somewhere, I think page 296. Lows are h11's

Fair enough... am still sorting out my option spec sheet, and hope to order my SLE in the first half of October. Will definitely RTFM once I get one :)

boaclub,

was there any aiming issues? was it hard to not blind others? basically, is there a surefire way to aim these things or is it just arbitrary?

um... i haven't found any problem with it yet, and hopefully i will never find the problem with it~ ^^;; pray HARD

it's shinny in the night, but i dont' think it will blind other ppl tho~
the color on project does change after i upgrade to HID,
but still not that crazy as BMW or S2000. (those lights really hurt my eyes at night time)

it should be easy to install if u bought H11 HID coversion kits.
don't do customize like i did. (i didn't have patien to wait, that's why i customized it) just get regular kits, and it will provide instruction for how to install. it's very easy to do it, only takes about 15 min to install. (it might take longer time if have hard time to hide balance.)

if u really have no idea how to do it even after u read instruction, go ask help from professionals. u dont' wanan mess around with those things, cause it's HIGH VOLTAGE! u dont' wnan burn urself or ur car...

good luck~
