Dude, you can't beat that, unless you want mine for 35.74. Yeah, it's used, but hell, it's K&N. Consider it broken in. It's guranteed for life! :D

as far as i know now, new toyota tends to use all the same filter in their cars... so... what i found out is all 02-04camry 4cyl/v6 and 04 solara 4cyl/v6 r using the same filter... so.. yeah
i think that one fits on 4cyl also..

What's the deal with these K&N filters? How long do they last? Do you then throw them away or clean them somehow and re-oil them? What advantages do they give over a standard Toyota filter that costs much less?

K&N Filter Answer

Postby online » Wed Aug 11, 2004 11:56 am

K&N Filters have been around for number of years - see knfilters.com for Engineering details. In a nutshell the filter provides much greater airflow than stock and can boost horsepower up to 10%+. Its the best $/perf upgrade.

See filter facts at: http://www.knfilters.com/facts.htm

The filter has a 10year/million mile guarantee. The filter periodically has to be cleaned (easy process) and re-oiled with special oil available from K&N and their distributors. The oil comes in:

Recharger Filter Care Service Kit (aerosol)

A six-step maintenance system designed to recharge any K&N Filtercharger® Air Filter. Restores air flow efficiency so your Filtercharger¨
performs like new!
Includes:
6.5 oz. Spray Oil, 12 oz. Filter Cleaner and Service Decal - #99-5000
Recharger Filter Care Service Kit

Same as 99-5000 except has squeeze oil bottle instead of spray can.
Includes:
8 oz. Squeeze Oil, 12 oz. Filter Cleaner and Service Decal – #99-5050

It would work for the I4 as well. Here's the link to the vehicle application, on the K&N web site:

You have to clean the filter every 3k? I didn't know it had to be cleaned that often.

Cleaning frequency

Postby online » Fri Aug 13, 2004 6:30 am

The interval for cleaning is 50K miles. K&N states that performance and gas mileage improvements improve as the filter gets a little dirty. I've been running a K&N in my 89 SHO since I bougth it with good results.

Hope this helps

Pre-Oiled?

Postby online » Sat Aug 14, 2004 12:48 pm

Jewls

Did the filter come pre-oiled? If not pull the filter immediately and follow KnN's prep instructions.
