That's probably why you're not getting boost in 1st gear. I can get my full 7psi of boost in 1st gear, although I really have to step on it to do it. It's easier to get boost in 2nd, and even easier in 3rd, 4th and 5th.

The manual EBC is supposed to be able to give you full boost in 1st gear due to drivers control. The limited boost in the atuo version is there to help protect the atuo tranny from overshifting/ slipping tires due to the motors allready massive torque that is able to spin the tires. Pretty much since the motor has power there allready, and it is computer controller through the auto tranny, they see it as extra precaution to disable boost in low RPM and low gear. Hope that helps, I read millions of posts and articles on it.

Man!!! I knew it. I kept telling you that I get almost no boost in 1st and some boost in 2nd. Anyways, Is there a way I can fix it? Or maybe Toyota can do something?

hmmm, well i dont know exactly how to mod it up to give you boost in 1st gear, but i know that you can simply swap ebc with a manual ebc and it should be all good. The auto has the boost disabled/lowered in low speeds to prevent the auto tranny from killing itself. I dont think toyota will be of any help since they would not promote anthing that is either 1.) unsafe or 2.) a reason for you to sue them. Heck, they wouldnt even install my damn 5mm longer rear studs.

btw... it seems that the charger is slightly a little laggy with no boost. I drove and rode in simons charged solara vs. my N/A camry and i can feel a slight difference when the boost hasnt picked up yet. It makes up for it 4k+ but before that in 1st and a little of 2nd, it feels a little lumpy.

Thanks for the info JTLCASTRO1. I'm thinking about removing the EBC.
What do you guys think of that?
