New TRD4life Product Release! GM Knock Sensor Kits CHEAP!
These will be posted in the for sale section . Just got back from the machine shop with a batch of these. I am now offering complete GM knock sensor kits for the boosted 1mz's. Kit includes GM knock sensor, pigtail harness and knock sensor adapter. Heres a little info on the kit.
The Camry and Solara V6 use knock sensors to sense detonation. When detonation is detected, the ECU will retard timing - which is great, because it gives a nice safety net if we go a little too extreme with our modifications. The problem is that the stock Toyota knock sensors are very fragile. One good knock caused by excessive load, bad gas, or a backfire can kill it instantly. While it is better to kill the sensor than your engine, a new Toyota knock sensor lists for $154.47
The Chevrolet knock sensor can be used in place of the stock Toyota one. The ECU approves and everything functions normally. Chevrolet knock sensors are much more durable and far more economical. However, the fitting on the Chevrolet knock sensor is much larger than the hole in the Toyota block, the adapter included in my kit has the correct threads and fits in the stock location. Splice the GM pigtail harness into your OEM knock sensor harness and this kit becomes plug and play.
The kits are priced to sell at $65 shipped per kit (2 kits required for the our v6 engines), about $20 less than the competition!
