Curious what your thoughts would be if I went with a colder plug? I wouldn't think it could hurt anything...

i saw on the supra forums for a single turbo or twins, they suggest IK24 or IK27's (understand that's a different ballgame), but checked out a saturn ION forum and some are using IK27's.

EDIT: At least the ION guys report some knocking issues with the colder plugs (that's they're guess). Rule of thumb...an increase of +75hp = one range colder.

it shouldn't make THAT much of a difference, but chances are that if the plugs run too cold, they will foul faster as they can't burn off the carbon deposits on the tip

the supra guys can run really cold plugs because with as much boost as they usually run, the temps in their combustion chamber should still be hot enough to burn off the carbon deposits and prevent their plugs from fouling

^^ok, good point...thanks King

Was looking on URDs website for plugs and they have the IK22s and they'll fit, but the one's on ebay with no specific vehicle described are cheaper...so will any IK22 fit? In other words, is there a difference in the plug with the way its threaded between, say a ford and a toyota or a honda and a toyota...i.e. one plug will fit all?

the threads are the same and they'll all fit

the only difference from what I've seen is that some of them have slightly different gaps, so find the ones with the closest to stock gap
