Trans Oil Temp gauge

Trans Oil Temp gauge

Postby Dawgz » Sat Nov 29, 2008 2:01 pm

So for anyone that is boosted, and has the automatic transmission, I would highly suggest an oil cooler for the trans and optionally a temperature gauge for the trans as well...i just got around to installing this and im pleased to say the least.

When i drove around and then idled for a bit, the temp gauge read about 165ish.

and then when i went back on the road, 2-3 mins later my gauge was reading like 125

Its a nice way to keep an eye on things to see if u can push the car or not at any given time...if its too hot, dont push it.

Well this one isnt a mechanical gauge, its a electric one...the sensor is in between the lines before it goes into the cooler...then the wire runs all the way into the cabin.

Btw, i forgot to mention, thanks to King for all the help on which parts to get and wat not...

Interesting. I'd like to get one of these even though I'm manual. It's always nice to keep an eye on the vitals.

I think the correct way to do it would be to have a port welded into the housing. Manuals can take a beating due to heat as well, but I've also been called paronoid too.
