Postby JvR » Sun Oct 19, 2008 4:29 am

Hi you all,

Yesterday my car gave a CEL error. I have not be able to check the number, but i think it's a broken knock sensor.
So my s/c must be lift to replace them.

I think it a good time to replace the spakplugs.
Am i right i need the NGK BKR7EIX-11 for my Camry on 4psi?

And these wires:

If you replace the knock sensors, also replace:

1: Coolant hose under manifold.
2: Both Manifold to head gaskets

You'll need to drain the coolant first.

Not sure on your 2 questions, just wanted to throw the other info at you.

the plugs that you are stating are fine- the 11's should be the 2-step colder plugs

as for the wires- all wires are pretty much the same as long as they aren't cheap-ass wires. oem ones will also do just fine.

Thanks for the fast reply and the tips!

@Eye8Pussies

What is understand is that the 7 in BKR7EIX-11 stands for the coldness and 11 for the gap size.
The most of you use BKR6EIX-11 ...so some hotter.

-I don't no what the best option is: BKR7EIX-11 or BKR6EIX-11

oh, hmm....sorry, you're right. I use IK22's so I just did a quick preliminary search on the NGKs, I guess I didn't look hard enough

as for the temp of the plugs, the NGK site says that the BKR6EIX-11 is what the stock 1mz should use. So, if you go two steps colder, then it should be BKR7EIX-11, which would give you extra detonation prevention for boost

I hope that cleared things up

Those plugs should do fine, I reccomend the Denso IK22's. I use IK20's in my N/A engine and I've always used denso products. Never had any problems.

Hope I could help. 8)
