i used royal purple the whole time I owned my solara (45,000 miles) its very good stuff. Horsepower gains are negligible at like 1-5 hp, but I always felt the car ran better with the stuff.

I'm not a Royal Purple fan personally... If you want to run true synthetic oil, run Amsoil or Redline. Royal purple is a true synthetic oil, however the additive pack is not up to par with the other two mainstreem true synthetics, or many of the Group 3 based synthetics either.

I use Mobil 1 "synthetic" and love it (been using it for the past 10 years in my last 3 cars). The reason I put synthetic in quotes in this case is because Mobil 1, Pennzoil Platinum, Castrol Syntec, etc... are Group 3 (crude) based oils. This isn't really a bad thing, as they use an EXTREMELY thorough process to filter and purify the oil stock, but they still aren't TRUE fully synthetic oils. I'd still use (and do use) Mobil 1 over Royal Purple though.
