Boost port hooks to?

Boost port hooks to?

Postby free » Wed Oct 03, 2007 1:48 pm

I'm trying to figure out what the boost port, which is on top of the supercharger, hooks up to so that my piggy back can read the boost. Can someone inform me?

Thanks

It hooks up to The hose on your boost gauge, what do you mean by Piggy back??

By "piggy back" I mean my URD (split second) air/fuel ration calibrator and fuel/timing controller.

boost gauge? Hmm, I'm not sure I follow. I know that a boost gauge would be installed on your A-pillar and the boost line would go to it. But, I don't have a gauge, so is there also another place to connect it. In order to tune your ECU (via the piggy back) would have to be able to read boost.

You could try right underneath the strut bar in the center of the s/c'er. You'll find a allen head used for people that use a boost gauge. Personally I would call URD to find the best info...we're all guessing. :o
Got Boost?? :sweet:

you could tee it off with your boost port on the charger. i relocated my boost port about an inch back so the strut bar wouldnt hit the boost tee. i got a split sec as well.

I'm in L.A. I'm going to have someone do it for me, but I was trying to figure it out for myself first.

Interesting. It sounds like that's the solution. For some reason I'm having a hard time picturing it. I should have it hooked up today or tomorrow and I'll try and take a pic.

i have the URD unit as well. it forces the ECU to go open loop mode as soon as it hits the specified amount of boost

in short: it intercepts the two O2 sensors signal and once it hit boost, it sends a signal that the O2 sensors would have otherwise to get the ECU into open loop and have it stop trimming fuel.

On mine, i just used a brass T fitting between my boost gauge and the URD box.

Well, a spout fitting was screwed into the boost port, which is on top of the supercharger. Then a hose is connected from it to the URD box. I guess I should have been able to think that one out, but oh well.

I'll get it tuned again next week and hopefully all will go well.
