Where can I buy one?

Where can I buy one?

Postby DjNoRhythm » Mon Sep 17, 2007 9:35 am

Greetings all,

I am new to the forum and this is my first posting.

I just bought an 01 Solara from the neighbor down the street. It is an I4 model and after driving streetrods all my life, the car feels a bit anemic.

So, I noticed here on the board that TRD had, at one time a supercharger for these cars. I went to their site and didn't find it though.

Anyone know where I can get a SC for my four-banger?

Thanks,
Ron in Oregon

welcome to the boards....but go formally introduce yourself in the intro section.

And to answer your question, the trd supercharger is not made for the I4. Only thing you can do is a custom turbo setup or engine swap, but that's beyond me.

rippmods S/C is the best choice other then custom turbo setup. but ud have to find the S/C first, few and far between.

Clarification

Postby JMSinMaryland » Sat Sep 22, 2007 8:23 am

The TRD Supercharger was for the V6 only including Solara, Camry, Avalon, Sienna and Highlander featuring the 3.0 1MZ-FE.

Rippmodds (a seperate company) made a supercharger for the I4, specifically the 2.2 5S-FE featured in the Camry, Solara and Celica. I think the I4 in the Highlander was a 2.4 from the beginning?

TRD makes a s/c for the 2az 2.4L... its intended for the Scion Tc but will work on the Camry and the Solara.
