S/C oil

S/C oil

I know I've read posts about it, but I'd like to know who to call to get it. I guess I should contact Magnusson for some oil?
Does anybody know for sure, the post I looked at was from like 3 years ago. Is there a certain oil to get? I read someone had used a synthetic, it sounds like it'd be better.
Also, can you still get the coupler that's supposed to be changed?
Is 4 quarts the right amount to add?
I've got like 40K+ miles and this will be the first oil change for the charger.
I've contacted the sites I've seen that had the TRD kit listed and only Brandsport sent me a message saying that they're on backorder. Plus, they weren't sure how long it'd take. I know TRD stopped making everything for our s/c, so I believe that they won't get any.

Thanks...

I am not sure about the coupler. But TRD still sell supercharger oil b/c it's still on their catalogue and it must be universal oil for every TRD supercharger.
Check out TRD 2007 catalogue from TRD USA website.

I know they list the 3.4L or Tundra, T100, and Tacoma oil kits. But, they don't like the 3.0L or Solara kit. I'd really like to get the coupler because it's supposed to be changed when changing the oil. If I bought one of the 3.4L kits, I'm pretty sure the coupler is different. I guess I'm going to call TRD again since they never called me back. I assumed they didn't call me back because most likely they don't have any kits left.

Astro,

I got mine from toyotaparts4u, based out of Dallas. They had to special order it for me, but I still got it within a reasonable amount of time. Their customer service was prompt as well when I sent them emails regarding the order, give them a call.

I think you meant to say, 4 oz (or 100 ml) of oil. The kit comes with the nose coupler, oil, sealant and new filler plug. TRD P/N is PTR29-17376.

Don't know about the coupling. You may want to call and ask them.

I saw on rollingperformance that they have a snout seal. It looks like the TRD doesn't come with it, so would it be a good idea to buy? If you don't, is it common to re-use the old one?

Thanks everyone! I'm getting a kit from siennasc98.
Thanks, siennasc98!

UPDATE:

This thread inspired me to finally buy the oil change kit.

I was way over due.

So, I ordered it the same day I posted.

Here: http://www.toyotapartstrd.com/PD-PTR29- ... x?MakeID=1

It just arrived today.

If anybody is wondering, here is what the kit contains:
1 bottle gear lube (100 ml)
1 phenolic drive adaptor (coupler)
1 Fill nozzle (makes it easier to pour oil into fill hole)
1 Fill plug
1 Tube Loctite Gasket Eliminator
1 set of extensive intructions - If anybody needs it, I guess I can scan it and post it.

Wish me luck on an quick oil change.
