CAI vs. SRI

CAI vs. SRI

Postby mzfe5speed » Wed Jun 06, 2007 8:50 pm

im wondering which would better with the supercharger, running the SRI or the CAI? i installed the CAI extension before i did the s/c and it helped, but ive heard the with the s/c the SRI is better. i figure im gonna try and compare on mine anyways, but im just curious to see what other peoples experiences have been. thanks.

CAI

CAI all the way. You need the cold air to feed the charger. The SRI is just feeding the charger hot air from the engine bay

CAI x2; I'll add to what Gabe said....SRI, you'll be sucking in hotter air (from engine bay) which will be adding to compressed, even hotter air because of the S/C. So hot air + even hotter air = insanely hot air. Since there's nothing to cool the compressed air (i.e. intercooler), you won't produce as much power.

Another reason why I'll be adding a meth-injection kit...thanks Greg for the site.

For each 20F degrees in less with the CAI will gain 2-3% not that much but if there no problem to put an CAI in Gen 1...go for it !
