split sec safc vs. apexi safcII...which is better?

Well, I've done a little searching on sg, had a little luck but not much. Plus, it was all seriously old info.

My question to you guys is which unit would you recommend and why? I need to get something to control my air-fuel mixture and know that I need to baby those knock sensors, but which unit do you prefer?

I know the split sec unit is pretty rare but seems to have a little better reviews. However, the safcII has the knock alarm which would be beneficial as well. Hopefully you boosted fellows can provide a little insight.

I believe it is all manually adjusted, no digital readout.

ahhh...so it's basically like the very first version of the safc with the knobs?

I wouldn't see the point of that when you can pick up an safcII for so cheap nowadays

If your refering to the Split Second Fuel Timing Calibrator, like the one sold on URD's website vs. the SAFC II, the SAFC II will be fine. I talked to JoeB about this age's ago when I was upgrading and I fortunately saved some of his PM's in case I needed to refer back to them. Here is what he told me:

"The Split Second is better but it is over-kill for the application if you don't excede 6psi. No need to adjust timing, ECU controlled that just fine plus it's more expensive. The Apexi-SAFC-II is less expensive and a good choice. Plus it gives you the ability to monitor knock and others."
