Top Speeds of Supercharged Automatics

This question is mostly to those with an auto boosted at 4psi

what is your top speed?

I've found that my car now tops out around 200kph and then only slowly creeps beyond that...

By that point, I think the car's in 4th gear and doing about 5K

I know that superchargers don't create much high-end power as opposed to turbos, but I'm kind of disappointed, since my car was able to hit 220 fairly readily, or at least climb to 220 faster than it does now (if it can at all anymore) before the acis was removed along with the intake plenum. but the car should still have more power now than before and be able to break that point- afterall, 200's not that fast

the only reason that I can think of is that I may be having fuel problems at that kind of speeds/rpm

I still have to install my 255lph hp pump and my safc as well.

so what do you guys think? and what have you guys experienced?

CASTRO - the gen3 is ungoverned

and DNRDriver - that's a waste of bandwith since you're not boosted and have no idea what I'm talking about

the s/c wasn't made for the gen3 camry and the 1st gen 1mzfe, so I don't know if it's just because of my car

Sounds like your running out of fuel . Def. put that fuel pump in and hook up the safc and start adding fuel.

The supercharger isnt restricting your top speed. People just dont understand that yes turbo gives more power, but 4psi is 4 psi. Near redline it wont restrict airflow. It just gives you the same amount of power but is weakened by the belt line. But its still 4 psi.

From what Im reading your car is lacking balance. Could be fuel, could be old injector, could be the DriveTran itself not being able to hold up such extra torqe your putting on it. In the end, Your car is unbalance.

Ive put over 5 grand on my car and to this day its still not balance. 5 grand isnt allot comparing to other members on here putting 20 grand and STILL not balance. Hope you fix it soon and drive safely,

NRDriver-please do some homework on the people who you are replying to before you make yourself look like a complete fool. Eye8 is right, please be boosted or become an expert before your a$$ starts talking.

Eye8-Sorry man, i thought that since the Gen3 had a 1mz and not a 3vz it would be more similar to the Gen4 1mz. Wow, thanks for giving me the heads up, i should search or start a list to show differences between your 1mz and others. It might be helpful to those that are into extreme mods.

the only real difference is in two things, mine is distributorless, and it has a different ecu, and doesn't have a limiter

but with out ecu, we also have more problems such as oversensitive knocksensors- even without boost, timing gets pulled and fuel gets dumped. I had to relocate my sensor even when I was n/a to get power back

after hitting the dyno with it, I found that gained back almost 20whp and a couple ft/lbs of torque

and thanks for the mostly confirmations guys....time for that pump to go in, and to turn up that fuel pressure just to be on the safe side...

My friend hit 155mph in his 99 Camry auto S/C. Bypassed the top speed limiter with an apexi rev speed meter.
