Question About Oil Pressure on S/C'd 1MZ

Postby Eye8Pussies » Tue Oct 10, 2006 12:45 am

I just installed my supercharger (finally) and I've noticed that my oil pressure is now about 15psi higher throughout all ranges- which may not sound bad.

BUT, this means that when I push the car hard, I'm hitting at least 100psi oil pressure (I have an autometer short sweep electric gauge that only goes up to 100psi) when in the past no matter how hard I pushed the car it only gets to ALMOST 100 psi, but not quite.

So I guess the question is; what kind of oil pressure do other ppl with the trd s/c run?

And for those that know, how many PSI is still okay? There is plenty of info usually on low oil pressure, but not too many about higher oil pressure.

Thanks! I'll be driving my car like a granny until I find out about this =P

oh, yes...at idle, the pressure is about the same as pre-boost though, but once I'm on the gas, the psi is always higher than before

for info: I just looked through the shop manual for the 94 1mz, and the factory spec for a warm engine at idle is 4.3psi+ and at 3000rpm, 43-78psi.

so if at 3000rpm, 78psi is fairly high and at 5000rpm then, would 100psi be out of the question?
