today i saw a few people selling ct20b turbos on ebay. any body who buys those are idiots, there is no such thing as a ct20b. and if anybody thinks there is look in all the toyota tech pubs u can find and i'll bet my wife that you won't find it even if you call a dealer. most of the turbs were just ct20's and a few had a 60trim wheel what are these people doing to our beautiful toyota turbos!!!!!!!!!

yeah i know cts20 boston sometiems toyota tech pubs bar in LA cts20b sounds like a lie verizon wireless he's in she's in they're in all bullshit man!

there is a REAL Toyota CT20 turbo used on the 3TGTE, 4TGTE, and 22RTE engines in the 80’s but this will not bolt on the 3SGTE twin-entry manifolds.
The source of this misinformation and designation maybe based on (1) article on TTE website about the WRC Castrol Corolla. I have checked and seen the turbo as installed on the works car and it is NOT even a Toyota CT series turbo.There have been many 3SGTE Celica and MR2 owners who have been misled into buying the real CT20 turbo from the older turbo engines. The seller is 100% correct in selling them as such with the casting # to prove so. Shops and individuals who pass the CT20 as upgrade for the 3SGTE- do not know any better.

you all need to spend some time on the mr2oc.com forums... There is a true ct20 turbo that was stock on the later 3sgte engines...

and changing the trim of the turbo is all about desired powerbands/spool/ and supporting mods.

i wasn't upset i just feel bad for the people that get suckered in to that ct20b deal, even some toyota guys do, and it's a shame that they do! i just want to remind everybody that drives a solara and a toyota for that matter, sorry if i sounded upset!!!

^^ if people don't do their due dilligence then they have all right to be screwed! If you think the seller doesn't know his $hit, then don't buy from him/her.

I bet you just finished reading the Toysport craps and started this thread.

CT20b (or whatever Toysports call) is a common name people (not Toyota) use for the turbo that come from 3rd gen 3sgte (from MR2T or ST205) They do exist and will out perform CT26 from 2nd gen 3sgte.

Please note that I'm comparing them with CT26 from 3sgte, not CT26 from Supra 7mgte.

CT20 is another turbo from old toyota engines. This one is much smaller than CT26.

When people mention CT20b, they normally mean the 3rd gen turbo. You can identify them by looking at the cast number on turbine housing and an extra hole on the downpipe flange. Also, CT20b does not have CT20 casted on the compressor housing (unlike the smaller CT20). It will just say "TOYOTA"
