Did you hear that? I got tired last night seeing people struggling with TRD and their horrible installation issues. Not to mention its discontinued. Well I sent a few emails to Ripp-Mod and got a reply today.

Hello and thank you for your email,

The standard pre-production order for an SDS is groups of ten, where we would incur all the heavy engineering and production costs, and the group of ten would benefit from a low buy in. All of our system product 100who or better, and we are positive we can produce the same with this platform, especially since the platform is proven already.

If you look at our site nearly all the SDS kits are $3500 to $4200 in various trim levels, this should be a good gauge in price. There is the option of a cheaper kit (Tuners Package) which comes stripped of all the fuel products, this will allow you to use what is currently (or formally) available from TRD, in conjunction with our system.

Are you a Toyotanation forum member, is that where you got our name from? Because if there are more individuals looking for our products we can help support the thread and forum.

Best Regards,

Subject: supercharing

Hi, I notice you have a kit for the inline 4 solaras and others. My question is I have a toyota solara V6.. the motor is a 1MZ-Fe.. The TRD supercharger has been discontinued so many owners like me have been wishing for a new boost to come in. the trd supercharger has always been a pain to install since it required allot of changing and removing stuff. I was wondering what it will take for you guys to manifacture these supercharger for our car... In my opinion is that i want to install these supercharger of yours in the front and have it run to an intercooler then into an aftermarket intake (injen in this case).. Only problem is this is a FWD.., getting it fit in is hard unless we do something like comptech superchargers where there is a shaft... But I just want to know what it will take for you guys to make some for us and what price would be...

Now im not the brightest guy in the world, So I asked these people and gaved them an opinion on a striaght bolt on without messing with options. I got the idea after seeing how honda accords have theirs bolt on the front ran buy a shaft to power the S/C..... I also emailed Vortec and Procharger and awaiting their reply. Ripp Mods have already proven us with their kit for the 4 bangers..... But I was ask to gather interest so I need 10 people who are interested. We are talking right now to gather interest first then work on making options which will range the S/C from mid 2 grand to 4 grand with all the goodies to run higher boost....

We are not sure about the gen 2s right now but since the engine layout is somewhat the same it wouldnt hurt to try... So yea.. This is serious and Im not just wasteing peoples time. Just helping create new aftermarket supports..

Wow... That's some comfort to the ears. The cool thing about the kits the I-4 is that the blower is a centrifugal supercharger. What’s great about it is that the blower is lubricated by the engine oil. So what that means is that the oil is fresh with each oil change. No stinking sealed units where the possibility of the lubricant could be broken down or leaked out of the seals. Something that happened to me earlier this year where the blower oil drained out leaving the charger grinding bearings. Besides the Blow-off value will be sweet. :D

i was looking into this as well, ripp mods specifically because they have a good design. If you look at any centrifugal supercharger on a fwd v6 setup they have some sort of bar drive system going accross the front of the engine to the charger. The whole system is relatively simple. If someone could do the r and d for a supercharger drive system (drive bar) or be able to obtain one i'd be able to make a supercharger system like this easily. It would be great if ripp mods came out with one, hopefully in thier cheaper tuner package version. If they develop something I am interested.

This sounds cool. I'd definately be interested, I want more boost too! I think the I/C is the key here, because of the TRD heat issues from high boost. Man, if Arrietta does put out a few turbo kits, it'll be hard to decide. 8)

Yes.. Ripp Modd will post up on here later to clarify some stuff later on... Cool thing is that if we can have this supercharger located into the front. It will be a much easier plug and play. TRD is good but too much work... Plus if this goes into the front we can run an intercooler to reduce early detonation which is a plus to a boosted car and we can hook a BOV onto the car to get that SPish sound we been wanting.. So yeah.. I feel happy I emailed them and ask.. Finnally a chance to get somewhere. Its worth a try.... Ripp modd is currently our company of choice in my opinion... The other two company isnt much into it and told me they wil reply later. So ripp mod all the way...

I like this better. TRD seriously is too much work. With this it will be cheaper and you wouldnt have to change the stock strut bar and remove anything off that manifold and cause that issue with malfunction..

Yeah..Again this is just a try.. It cant get started unless we find few people who are interested. This might work off the gen 2 solaras too...

Again the best part is that it is a centrifugal supercharger... Will be easier to bolt onto the car, Less mantanance unlike TRD if Im correct, and be cleaner because it wont involve tapping into oil line and all.. Plus you wont have to hassle taking all the other stock parts off like the manifold... Ripp Mod will post here later on tonight..

Im also saying this might work on Gen 2s because gen2 couldnt before due to the VVTi and installing a TRD will mean taking the factory manifold off screwing the VVTi right? Well this new Supercharger doesnt touch that area.. So boom...shouldnt it be safe then. NOT to mention with the supercharger located in the front, we can run a boost controller and BOV to lower boost to safe runing point...works to me I think... But Ill let the pros handle this.. Ripp Mod is cool

Come on...Is there anymore interest? What happen to all the Gen 2s always wanting one? Are you guys giving up already? This is your chance and Ripp Modd needs to see interest before we can get anywhere... Post up and show them you care seriously for this new mod :)

I've been looking to get a supercharger, but if this is comparable in power and everything I'm definately interested. I'm not a gen 2 though if that's what you were looking for.

centralfuge supercharger requires more maintaince then the root type. thats why no car come with centralfuge type supercharger. it is basically like a belt driven turbo instead of exhaust driven.
